Remember that cute puppy I was telling you about? Well, here are some more pictures of her! I love her warm brown eyes and I have a thing for curly tails... She'll be going home in about an hour. I can't say I'm not relieved.

In non-dog related news, I went shopping with my good, old, friend Ben yesterday. It was a lot of fun. I finally got some good, cute, comfortable, walking/office shoes. I love them :) I also got these adorable little wall decals. They're white boards and chalk boards, perfect for living with room-mates! Here are a couple pictures of the chalk boards I put on the pantry door. We also put a cluster of chalk boards and white boards behind the bar but I still need to figure out some sort of lamp shade to cover up our hideous and overly bright kitchen light before I can take a picture of that.

{2}Happiness Is....

Happiness is... Puppy Love!
We're puppysitting this weekend! Boy what an adventure! The big black one, that's the puppy. Watson still looks like a puppy but he's pretty much grown out of that fun stage in life.
Anyways, that's Andy. She's a sweet heart! I'll have to get a picture of her cute smile and long dangly tongue before her mommy gets back from Moab.  She's a mutt, which is always good, and has a great personality! She was really funny on that walk at first. It was a new neighborhood for her so she was very timid but still very curious. She did not really like the neighbors lawn mower but still wanted to get a closer look. I love that about puppies.
Well, there will probably be weekend posts all about her so check back for more pictures soon!

2011 Twilight Concert Series Line-up !!!JUST RELEASED!!!!

OK, you should see me right now. I'm like a kid just told she's going to Disney Land! They JUST released the line-up for the 2011 Twilight summer concert series!
A little back story for those of you not from around here. Every summer the Utah arts council (a long with a bazillion sponsors, vendors and other amazing people) put on a FREE concert series. It runs every Thursday night from July 14th to August 25th at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I'm spoiled in that my hubby works for an amazing company that also sponsors the event. Every year we get VIP passes to 2 or 3 of the shows through his work. They get us into a nice little fenced off area where we can avoid the crowd, 3 glasses of wine each, unlimited sodas, waters, snacks and (as my friends and I nicknamed) access to the VIPP (the non-porta-potty bathrooms). This is probably one of my favorite things about summers downtown.
ANYWAYS, I'm about to explode with excitement over this line-up so, here it is so you can join me! :p

Miss you Grandma.

What I Love Wednesday #6

With summer just about here, I've been thinking a lot about my poor, neglected, back yard.  I have all sorts of plans for it: a deck, a garden, lights, parties and oh that apple tree! I love that tree. So right now, I'm obsessing over swings. I want to put a dreamy little swing in my tree. I love these! What do you think?
P.S. Don't forget to click the button above to join in the party!

What I Love Wednesday #5

I had a hard time deciding on a topic this morning. I love lots of thing but nothing was sticking out as something I wanted to blog about at the moment, until I looked down at my left hand...

This week I'd like to share with you one of my most prized possessions, My engagement ring! Our engagement was not at all a surprise. In early may of 2009 we started talking about the M word. We even picked a date and started making plans but I was adamant about not sharing the news with our families until I had a ring on my finger. I knew nobody would take us very seriously until then so we kept our mouths shut.
Jeff wanted me to pick out my ring since he had no idea where to even start. I was definitely more than happy to shop. There were a few things I was looking for in my ring. I liked the vintage styles, I wanted at least some diamonds (for traditions sake) and I wanted it to be something we didn't have to go into debt for. I figured I could probably find a decent ring for around $500. I scoured the internet, ebay and jewelry shops. Finally one day I found the perfect ring for me!
It was listed under the "promise ring" section on It was an online exclusive and on sale for $150! Can you believe it??? I waited three months before I finally got to see it in person and before Jeff officially popped the question back on July 31, 2009. To this day I still get stopped an asked about my ring about 2 times a week. I just laugh to myself when I think about the fact that we spent so little on it.
You could still find the same ring on Zale's website up until a few months ago but, of course, as I was looking for the ring to post a link on here I could no longer find it. They do have lots of other great rings though. If you're looking for an affordable engagement ring don't forget to check out "promise rings" at your favorite jewelers'! If you would like advice, help or have questions about shopping for a ring feel free to ask away!

Should I open an Etsy Shop???

I'm loving the typography art trend I've been seeing everywhere lately. With my background in print journalism, layout and graphics it definitely has a space of it's own in my heart.
When I very first moved into my own apartment I made a rule for myself. I would not hang any artwork in my home that didn't have significant meaning or wasn't done by some one I knew. I still like to try and follow that rule as much as possible so I've been thinking about designing my own prints and posters. Then I started thinking about maybe selling copies on Etsy.
I'm still not sure that's what I'll do but I was hoping to get some opinions and feedback on the idea. I'm sure there are copyright laws I need to look into if I'm going to be selling prints with lyrics on them. Anybody have any knowledge on that? I'm also thinking about making printable stationary.
Below is a poster I made last night. The lyrics are from the song Strawberry Fields by The Beatles. Enjoy!
